- Setting goals is not an easy task. For me, I will remind myself of a goal for a couple days- but then end up just blowing them off or getting sidetracked. I'm going to be starting a new semester soon for school, so I have been trying to think of new ways to make my goals stick.
- 1. Make Shorter Goals. My main goal in life is to achieve my dream of becoming a veterinarian. At my point in life, I still have two more years of school and four more years of vet school until I accomplish that dream. I ask myself, in the meantime what sort of goals do I have since my life goal is years away? Making weekly/monthly goals will make you feel more accomplished and more confident- and they will make you feel like you're getting stuff done
- 2. Write Reminders to Yourself. As I said up top, I forget about the goals I set. Write your goal on a 'note' on your phone, stick a post-it note to the bathroom mirror, hell-write it on the inside of your hand if you have to. Put your goals in places you will see it, make yourself be reminded of them, daily.
- 3. Make it a Habit. It takes 21 days to build a habit. Do daily tasks that have to do with reaching your goal. That way, in a month, the tasks you have done will not only be habitual but you will have completed a goal! Do the same thing if your goal is weekly or monthly. For example; its Monday and you have a test on Friday. Up until Friday study for your test at least 2 hours daily (this would be the tasks), then get an A on your test (this is the goal)!
- Can't think of any goals at the moment? Try this fill in the blank list.
- This week my schedule contains...one week of latin to finish up and finishing appendices at work
- This weekend I will...do something for myself
- My dream is to...become a veterinarian, save animals lives
- One of my favorite things in the world is...good conversation
- If I could change one thing about the world it would be...animal abuse, it needs to stop permanently
- One of the best feelings in the world is...being in love
- One thing I wish I would have done last year is...visit my grandpa and grandma more, relax more, work out more
- If I could change one thing about myself it would be...my stress level related to school
- Leave a comment with some of your goals, or even just the fill in the blank list! Don't worry only 4 days until Friday- what do you want to get done before then?
- Its Friday! It always seems like I never know what day it is during the week (as in this post) except when its Friday! This weekend my best friend Cataya is coming to visit. I basically made her let me move in with her to get away from my first roommate. We are also judging the Dog Days of Summer Dog Show on Saturday!
- What are your plans this weekend? Go out and do something out of the ordinary!
- Go Hiking! Go eat at a restaurant where you have never eaten before! Go to a concert!
- Go have fun and be fearless!
